Track and a Carnival

Friday was a BUSY day for me. 24 cupcakes for the cake walk, a track and field day for Randi, and the Skyline Carnival. However, busy for me, usually equals fun for the girls... so I'm good with it. It was cold and windy! I'm not exactly sure at what age weather matters, but the girls didn't seem to mind freezing. They really never do actually. They could swim when it's 50 degrees out, if mom let them that is. It's so funny what bothers us grumpy old adults and what kids can overlook in the name of having fun. I totally need that part of being a kid back, well and the energy wouldn't be bad either.

So i have to mention that Randi is all about being a girl and all the glorious plus's that come with it. She loves clothes and shoes and jewelery and makeup and anything that is shiny and blings!! So, it really was no surprise to me that she would only do track in her fur coat. I didn't even think anything about it until one of the other mom's said something. She is a girly girl in every since and did track in fashion!

Yup She got SECOND!!! Grace is great runner and takes after her Dad in so many ways. Great job GRACE!!

After the Fun day was the Carnival. The girls had a blast! They started the night off with showing some school spirit!!

So after our crazy busy day on Friday, we got up bright and early to go to Randi's track meet. We had signed her up for track through the Recreation Department and her track meet happened to be the day after her track and field day at school. So we endured another cold windy morning of races and ball throws. And of course the girls didn't mind a bit. Randi actually did awesome in her races!! Notice, the fur coat. ;)

She got second place in the 100 yard dash!! Way to go Randi. She just might have some of her daddy in her after all. Because I am NOT the runner in the family, not the fast one anyway.

So all in all a great weekend for Our Family of 4

Randi Graduated!!

My BIG 5 year old graduated Kindergarten yesterday!!! How awesome is that! It was so much fun for her and a very proud moment for me. Randi is an amazing little person and so many milestones are to come but seeing her graduate from kindergarten was AWESOME for me! I loved every minute of it. I'll start by throwing in some cute pictures of her as a baby, toddler and preschooler.

And here are her pictures from GRADUATION DAY!!!!

So my baby graduated!! Yeah, it's only from kindergarten but it still warmed my heart. This girl will do amazing things when she gets older! Just wait and see. :)

A Day in Hutchinson

In the midst of finals we decided to go spend the day in Hutchinson with Chris & Dani aka Uncle Chris and Aunt Dani. It was great to get away and forgot about all the test taking, studying, and last minute assignments that were in store for me the next day. Jeff's final is right around the corner too, which is amazing for him. I'll blog about that one too. :) Anyway back to Saturday....We started the day at the Hutchinson Zoo. The girls LOVE zoo's, so I knew it would be a hit. The first request from Randi and Grace....A ride on the train.

Then it was off to see some critters.

Taking off with Uncle Chris

Digging in the Dino pit, I think Randi is uncovering a a DINO!!

Hard at work with blush and tooth brushes

Grace thinking that she's pretty good at milking that fake cow

Randi had to try it out too.

After the Zoo we played in the park for awhile and the girls flew these awesome little micro kites that Chris bought. They were seriously sooo cute and they actually worked!!

We than headed to the Cosmesphere. The girls had never been, (well we took Randi when she was like a year old but that doesn't really count since she can't remember it.) so this experience was a new one for the both of them. I think Chris and Jeff enjoyed themselves more than the girls did. I do have to admit this next picture is one of my favorites!! I love these little cutie bugs. They make pretty cute astronauts too.

Posing with President Lincoln.

It was a great day spent with family. It's something we don't do near enough. It's apart of that balancing act that we try to win at.....ya know the one of playing harder than you work and making time for the fun stuff?? I think we are winning, but it's never done without a little stressing on my part about what's not getting done while we're out playing. In the end, I don't really care if my house is a wreck or I have 50 loads of laundry to do or my dishes are piling up in the sink and down the counter or if I have 5 assignments due and 3 finals to study for or if our yard needs mowed. That stuff can wait, it will always be there, trust me it's ALWAYS there whether I do it or not.  My precious amazing little girls won't be. They will grow and I will have missed so much if I worry about all the chores, responsibilities, duties and such. Once a week my house is cleaned and it stays that way for 5 minutes, I spend the rest of the week trying to keep up with picking up, laundry, and dishes and sometimes you just have to LET GO and GO HAVE FUN!
